Concept

Ikebukuro

— Paitan and mala in one two-broth pot — Ginjo Lamb® shabu, with wagyu and vegan courses too. Three minutes from Ikebukuro Station on the Marunouchi Line, with 30 seats.

AREA

Shabu-shabu in Ikebukuro

For shabu-shabu in Ikebukuro (池袋), head to the west side of the station and Romance-dori. Lamb Shabu KINNOME Ikebukuro is on the 5th floor of the Natori building at 1-40-5 Nishi-Ikebukuro, Toshima-ku — a 3-minute walk from Ikebukuro Station on the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line and 4 minutes from JR Ikebukuro Station. The east-side entertainment district is within walking distance, but one street back from the station crowds it is a small, settled room of 30 seats. There is no lunch service: we open at 5:00 PM on weekdays and at 4:00 PM on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, which suits a drink after work or dinner after shopping or a film. Ginjo Lamb® Shabu in a two-broth pot is the signature, and there are courses with all-you-can-eat lamb and vegetables — good for a small gathering or a quiet celebration.

  • A black table seen from directly above: a lacquer box of mushrooms with wooden tags, a platter of thinly sliced lamb, salad, two portions of egg noodles, rice balls and condiment jars
  • A platter of rare mushrooms: Tamogitake, Hanabiratake and others laid out in a black wooden box with variety-name tags

FEATURE

What sets Ikebukuro apart

A small restaurant with 30 seats. Four courses are available: Ginjo Lamb® Shabu, mala broth, medicinal-herb mushroom, and A5 wagyu meat-lover lamb shabu — each as a Set Plan or All-You-Can-Eat, with free-flow drinks as an add-on. Ikebukuro also offers wagyu sukiyaki and shabu-shabu, plus a certified vegan soy-meat course. No lunch service; open from 17:00 on weekdays and 16:00 at weekends and on holidays.

  • A small bowl with a black geometric pattern on white, set on a black table and filled with thick, milky white sesame sauce

SCENE

Occasions at Ikebukuro

Small gatherings
With 30 seats, the room is sized for a party of a few rather than a crowd — an easy distance across the pot. Choose a course with all-you-can-eat lamb and vegetables. Three minutes from Ikebukuro Station on the Marunouchi Line.
Dinner for two
Doors open at 5:00 PM on weekdays and 4:00 PM at weekends, which fits neatly after shopping or a film. Share the two-broth pot — clear paitan and spicy malatang — and choose between a light single-serving set or a full all-you-can-eat course.
After work
Four minutes from JR Ikebukuro Station and three from the Marunouchi Line. We serve until 11:15 PM, with last order 30 minutes before closing, so a late start still works: a single-serving Ginjo Lamb® Shabu set and a drink is enough.
Wagyu and vegan courses
Alongside the four lamb shabu courses, you can choose Hokkaido Kuroge wagyu sukiyaki or shabu-shabu, and a certified vegan soy-meat course. Animal-derived ingredients are prepared in the same kitchen, so please ask us if you have food allergies. See the menu page for prices and details.

Menu

Menu

Courses, à la carte dishes and drinks, with prices, are listed below

  • Hot-pot vegetables on a flat indigo plate: bok choy, tofu, carrot, finely shredded leek, watermelon radish and glass noodles arranged in a fan
  • Medicinal ginseng in a pale wood box, its thick root reaching out past the frame, casting shadows against a black background
  • The table from an angle: seared lamb sushi on a long black plate, a platter of meat on slate and rolled lamb in a white vessel overlapping one another
  • Four pieces of seared lamb nigiri sushi on a black square plate, topped with chopped scallion, the glossy meat standing out against a black background
  • Mala broth in a round white bowl, seen straight from above: a whole red chili and a dark red jujube rest at the bottom, while split leek, coriander, white sesame and beads of chili oil float on the surface
  • Paitan broth in a round white bowl, seen straight from above: split leek and coriander, red goji berries, round amber and dark brown fruits and a milky white kernel rest at the bottom

Course

Courses

The four lamb shabu courses each come as either a Set Plan or All-You-Can-Eat. Hokkaido Kuroge Wagyu sukiyaki and shabu-shabu, plus a certified vegan soy meat course, are also on the list. All-you-can-drink is available as an add-on plan. Where the contents repeat the line above, we note them as “same as above”. The four lamb shabu courses are seated for two hours, with last orders taken 30 minutes before your time ends.
